Christmas and New Year Holidays, Vehicle Volume on Cikarang Toll Road Increases

Head of the National Police Corps Inspector General Police Refdi Andir monitored the flow of vehicles ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays at the Cikarang Utama (Cikarut) toll gate, West Java. In his observation, he said that the density of vehicles at the Cikarut toll gate had begun to be seen.
He also predicts that the increase in vehicle volume will occur today and Saturday, December 22, 2018. He predicts that around 85-90 thousand vehicles will pass through the Cikarang Utama toll gate section. This figure increases from the average volume of 60 thousand vehicles.
"Today, from 6:00 a.m. until before 6:00 p.m. WIB, the number of vehicles has already exceeded 45,000. Our estimate for the 21st (December) is around 85 thousand, but not up to 90 thousand. That is our estimate," said Refdi in Main Cikarang toll gate, West Java, Friday, December 21, 2018.
However, he predicts that after the Cikarut Toll gate, not all vehicles will go to Central and East Java. As many as 30 percent of vehicles are predicted to lead to the city of Bandung, West Java. Others traveled to Central and East Java.
"Based on the analysis and analysis of last year they also partially moved to Bandung, because it coincided with a long holiday. They were not merely hospitality to their hometown but there were also those who were looking for vacation spots and vacationing in one place," he said.
Refdi expects the public not to make the toll road as one-on-one access road to the tourist attractions and homecoming during the holiday celebrating 2018 and New Year's Christmas Day.
"We hope that the toll road will not be the only choice to make a move when we go home, as well as when returning," Refdi said.
He also called other access that can be passed by motorists, namely the northern coast line (pantura), the middle lane and the southern lane. He acknowledged that there would be mix traffic outside the toll road because it was also passed by two-wheeled riders.
